Ok, I'm going through some major life changes at the moment and wanted to write down my experiences.
This week, I made Lifetime at Weight Watchers. This means that I set a weight loss goal, reached it, and sustained it for 6 continual weeks. My Weight Watchers journey began in January of 2010 when a friend and I decided we were sick of being fat. I checked out several different diets, including Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig, and landed at Weight Watchers because of my friend's previous success on the program. By April, I was down a size (from 18 to 16) and feeling pretty good about myself. As the weight continued to drop, I gained more and more confidence. My family noticed a difference and both my Mom and Brother started the program as well.
In June, I applied for a new job because there was little to no chance of a promotion where I was. I was lucky enough to land a job after applying for one, and knowing how rough the economy was at the time, I know I was destined to work where I landed.
I was set to start my new position in mid-July. The weekend before I started, my life changed in a huge way when my spouse of 5 years (and my partner since 1999!) decided he didn't want to be married anymore. No discussion really, no explanation, no hope of working anything out in counseling. I was shattered.
Luckily, I was already working on myself. Otherwise, this sadness would have driven me to eat myself to death. I was able to sustain and keep losing weight.
Fast forward to 2011 and I decided to pick a goal weight at Weight Watchers, which was a huge commitment for me. My body had sort of hit a plateau at this point and I was in my health weight range, so I just did it.
Now it's July 2011 (1 year since my craziness all happened!) and I made Lifetime. 62.2 pounds lost total. How do I celebrate? By deciding to take on veganism and joining the gym! So here I go!...
